Bye bye O!!!
Some of you already know that I submitted my resignation to Kelly Scientific Resources. May 20th is my last day. Many of you have congratulated me on my new job and asked where I was going. I wanted to tell you all at once...
I have volunteered for the Peace Corps! On June 7th I will go to Philadelphia for three days of orientation. On June 9th I will be departing to Ghana West Africa!!!
I will serve as a Science and Mathematics teacher in the Peace Corps' Education Project along with 75 other volunteers teaching at the Senior Secondary School level, which is approximately equivalent to U.S. High School. The program includes three months of Pre-Service training then 24 months of volunteer service.
I know that it is going to be tough, but that is what I look forward to A tremendous challenge and a great learning opportunity. One of the things that I value most is the opportunity to learn. One of the greatest pieces of wisdom is embodied in the saying "Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime." This is this spirit that I move forward with.
